Why is stainless steel superior to other materials used for water bottles?
Plastic is known to leach a chemical called Bisphenol A (BPA) into liquids, which is able to mimic the female hormone estrogen. Recent studies have shown it to be damaging in even small amounts and the Canadian government has gone so far as planning to list it as a toxic substance and ban its use in baby bottles. Aluminum bottles require epoxy liners, the safety of which is currently being questioned. Stainless steel, however, is both safe and highly durable. The stainless steel that we use is the high quality grade #304 which, inert and sanitary, is used in everything from food processing equipment to the brewery and dairy businesses. No liner is required. The corrosion resistant nature of stainless steel means that unlike other materials, it reacts minimally with its environment. No PVC, no phthalate, no BPA, no argument.
