Why is SPI so good for learning how to kiteboard?
South Padre Island is one of the best place on earth to learn how to kiteboard. The Laguna Madre Bay which separates the South Padre Barrier island from the rest of south Texas is a perfect training ground. There is over one million acres of flat, shallow, and warm bay water to kite surf in. You can touch everywhere in the Laguna Madre Bay making it an ideal place to learn. Most other teaching locations in the nation do not have the kind of access to such a wide body of shallow water. South Padre also is well known for its warm steady breeze year round. The amount of wind that blows in South Padre is far more consistent than anywhere else in the United States, and it stays warm here longer!
