Why is space exploration important?
Space exploration agencies around the world conduct expensive research because that research may help to someday prevent our extinction. Famous scientists such as Stephen Hawking and Arthur C. Clarke have stated that failing to spread into space could eventually lead to cultural stagnation and death. Although these views seem extreme, research in space already provides us with new products and medical advances, and in the future may make it possible for us to colonize space.
