Why is SMU requiring student to maintain health insurance as a condition of their enrollment?
Students often need medical care beyond the capabilities of the Memorial Health Center. Examples are automobile accidents, injuries requiring sophisticated imaging (MRI & CT scans), or serious medical or surgical care requiring hospitalization. The University wants to make sure students have the necessary medical care needed in case of events such as these.
