Why is shea stadium closing?
Shea Stadium has seen more than it’s wear and tear. Walk anywhere in Shea and you will see water leaking from God knows where, peeling paint, cruddy concession stands, long lines for bathrooms…..the place is just a mess. The stadium was also built with football in mind so the new stadium is designed with a baseball only plan. The new park CitiField will have fewer seats but they will be more fan friendly, angling towards the field, it is also designed in a way that is supposed to make it more fan friendly in that there is more leg room and slightly larger seats. There will be three restaurants that allow a view of the game. There will be more handicapped seating, more elevators accessible by the public and the way it is designed the fans are supposed to feel like they are closer to the action. I have gone to many games at Shea and I have watched the stadium fall into such an state of disrepair that I walk in and wonder what kinds of cr*p is molding up or dripping onto the floors, may
