But sexual harassment is a big deal. It can make you feel humiliated, scared, confused, and angry. It can interfere with your school work, your social life and your home life. Sexual harassment is not just flirting or playing around. Behavior that is enjoyed or welcome, such as flirting, is not sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is unwelcome conduct, and it shouldn’t be ignored or accepted. Sexual harassment is prohibited by Title IX, a federal law which prohibits sex discrimination in education. It requires all schools that receive federal money to make sure that students are not discriminated against on the basis of sex.
