Why is SEIU involved in politics?
Your bargaining rights, job security, and working conditions can be impacted by elected officials. As your union, SEIU fights to protect all of these things. To do an effective job, SEIU must be involved in electing these officials. We can hold elected officials accountable for the actions they take – actions that affect our lives every day. Corporations and the wealthy always have a well-funded seat at the table when it comes to deciding laws that will affect our lives, and SEIU COPE gives us a seat at the table, too.
