Why is segregation of waste materials from the human body necessary?
The removal of wastes formed in the human body due to the process of metabolism is necessary . The accumulated wastes cause harm to the human organs as they become toxic if left un removed and can lead to harmful consequences such as damage to the tissues and cells. For example- 1. Uric acid formed in urine is toxic and can render cells dead. 2. Bile salts – bilurubin and biluverdin are toxic and can cause malfunctioning of organs if left undiscarded. The end products of metabolism are referred to as wastes and are of no importance to the human body rather than causing toxicity and hyper-storage so they need to be discarded. Moreover, the body has a limited storage or carrying capacity beyond which if additional nutrients supplied can not be retained and hence should be disposed .
