Why is seam construction important?
Land and Sky uses a lap seam construction. That is the vinyl that is lapped over the other piece of vinyl and welded together with Radio Frequencies, or RFs. Most of the modern waterbeds have lap seams. Most of the problems occur when lap seams are not welded evenly. That is to say that the width of the seam varies. This variance causes more seam leaks than any other part of a mattress. You will always see a consistent width on Land and Sky waterbed mattress seams.
