Why is sealer needed on concrete applications?

0

Portland cement concrete is the most difficult road surface on which to apply pavement markings. Concrete must be clean. It must be free of curing agents, abrasives, de-icing chemicals, dirt, dust and any other materials which will act as a barrier between the concrete surface and the pavement marking material. As there is no bitumen present in the concrete, the bond between all thermoplastics is not chemical, but physical. The greater the physical bond, the greater the performance. Therefore, a sealer is used with PreMark® on concrete.
