Why is “Screech” (Dustin Diamond) absent from the “Saved by the Bell” People magazine cover?
There’s no Screech in the People cover picture that has everyone talking. His former co-stars didn’t want him in the shot because Diamond has been a bad boy — a very bad boy. Bell’ won’t toll for him Diamond in the rough stuff with cast of ‘Saved by the Bell’ show BY BILL ZWECKER Sun-Times Columnist The behind-the-scenes bickering over the current People magazine cover story — about the ”Saved by the Bell” cast refusing to participate if co-star Dustin ”Screech” Diamond is included — is getting even uglier. Led by actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar, the rest of the former teen TV hit show troop was unanimous in blackballing Diamond.
