Why is Salisbury building its own fiber communications network?
We all depend on robust technology more and more for our everyday communications, yet the current options aren’t keeping up with our needs. Several years ago, the city began studying the possibility of building its own Fiber to the Home network and secured the project funding in late 2008. Called Fibrant, the FTTH network will allow Salisbury to remain competitive by providing our citizens with the best technology for TV, Internet and phone with greater speed, enormous capacity and plenty of room to upgrade for the future. We’ll be ready to launch by the second half of 2010!
