The theater will play host to both Dead Man’s Bones and the Silverlake Conservatory Children’s choir, who appear on the band’s self-titled debut. The residency will showcase a unique collaboration between the theater and the band. Ryan is appearing at the Bob Baker Marionette Theater with the band, Dead Man’s Bones, and the Silver Lake Conservatory Children’s Choir. This appearance is the debut for Dead Man’s Bones, which is lead by Gosling’s good buddy, Zach Shields. The Bob Baker Marionette Theater claims to be the longest running children’s theater in Los Angeles. It was founded in the early 60’s by Bob Baker, a puppeteer, and his partner, Alton Wood. Perhaps in concert with Dead Man’s Bones performances, Ryan appears in a photo essay from Hama Sanders, a 41-year-old California photograper. Dubbed eccentric, as a whole, by Hollywood pundits, at least three of the pictures in the essay frame Ryan with a rather scary looking marionette. And finally, Ryan may be called the puppet master thanks to his publicist. It could be an effort to put Gosling’s star back in the limelight.
