Eighteen karat gold is 18/24ths gold and 6/24ths alloy material. Depending what that alloy is will change the color of the gold. If I your alloy your ring with copper then the ring will have a reddish pink color. If I alloy the metal with palladium then, your ring will have a whitish color. If I mix silver and copper as the alloy metal your ring will have a yellow color.
