Why is Roger Taylor not on the cover of the Queen album News of the World ?
The album cover was Roger Taylor’s idea to begin with. He had an issue of “Astounding Science Fiction” which had a similar robot, but only one dead man in the hand. They hired a painter, Frank Kelly Freas, to do it with the band members in it. Roger is said to be falling to the ground like John, but I think we are supposed to assume that he was the first to fall, and therefore out of the picture. Since it was Roger’s idea, I imagine it was all in his plans to be left out of it.
