Why is refined sugar more expensive than white sugar?
Sugar in its raw form is a premium sugar made from natural cane. Worldwide, there are few cane growing locations and manufacturing facilities devoted to producing high quality sugar hence the supply of premium sugar is much more limited than the supply of white sugar. As a result, premium sugar costs more than white sugar. Moreover manufacturing also results in additional facilities like steam generation units and increases the Manufacturing cost.
