This year, RAAF Base Cutin has been brought to a fully operational status as part of Exercise Pitch Black 2006 (EX PB06). To do this the RAAF’s Combat Support Group (CSG) has supplied the support required to set the base up and sustain the flying operations of No. 1 Squadron F-111 aircraft which will be based at RAAF Base Curtin to participate in EX PB06. Approximately 350 people will deploy to RAAF Base Curtin in order to achieve this. The following is a list of support services that will be deployed to RAAF Base Curtin: Security: Security of the base plays an important part in successful air operations. No. 386 Expeditionary Combat Support Squadron (386ECSS) will provide security elements such as Security Police (SECPOL) in order to effectively protect the base. Generally, SECPOL’s role encompasses protective security, law enforcement and emergency responses. Also helping SECPOL will be the Military Working Dogs (MWD).
