Why is QUT changing to email@connect?
In order to keep up with increasing student expectations, QUT needed to move with the times and offer a more competitive email service for students. By partnering with Microsoft, QUT is able to offer email@connect which provides students with a user-friendly, web-based service which is robust and reliable. email@connect provides students with: • a massive mailbox of 10GB (500 times the 20MB limit offered by the current WebMail service); • a calendaring function; • 5 GB online file storage (SkyDrive); • mobile device synchronisation; • enhanced security; and • life-long email address In addition to the enhanced email service for students, QUT benefits too by having an economical way of providing cutting-edge technology without increasing our financial expenditure to maintain and support the email service. The on-campus WebMail service is due for to be decommissioned in the later half of 2009 and it is imperative that all student mailboxes on WebMail are deactivated and removed from the
