Why is Quality Service Pricing better than packaged flat rate software?
While most people think that the ‘cost’ associated with using a software program to produce their flat rate books ends with the purchase of the software, it is really only the beginning. Many people that purchased packaged systems tell us that the ‘starter database’ included with the system does not adequately cover the type of repair work they perform. Therefore, they spent countless hours ‘tweaking’ the system before they were happy with the printed book. In many cases, they gave up and went back to the ‘old way’ of doing things. For those that stuck with it and finally got the database where they wanted it, they printed their books (more time and supply costs) and handed them to their techs, only to find out they were unprepared to teach them how to use them in the field. They had never done it this way before so they were unable to answer many questions the dispatcher and techs had. The point? There is only so much a ‘box of software’ can do to help you implement a flat rate system
