Why is produce prices so high if Illegal aliens help keep prices down?

That is the question. I was wondering something similar. If the illegal Mexicans are doing the jobs that Americans don’t want to do, then what are the legal Mexicans doing? Is it true that illegals are doing the work that even their OWN countrymen don’t want to do? Then how soon is it before even the illegals find something else to do, like getting into union jobs at meatpacking plants and such? THEN who’s left to do the jobs that Americans, Mexicans, and illegals don’t want to do? Update: Actually, I find it interesting that a Big Mac combo costs just under $5, in Texas and in Michigan. But in Texas, there are a lot of Hispanics working in McDonald’s for minimum wage of $5.85 an hour. In Michigan, there are virtually no Hispanics working at McDonald’s, and minimum wage in Michigan is $7.15 an hour. So, if labor is cheaper in Texas due to Mexican workers, why does a Big Mac still cost as much as it does in Michigan? Illegals do not keep the prices down; they just make the company owner
