Why is plastic not collected in the Kerb-It recycling scheme?
At present, it is too expensive to collect plastic under this service and the compartments on the vehicles used are fully utilised for the paper, glass and cans we collect and recycle. We are undertaking a trial scheme through Middlefields recycling centre, Heddon Way, South Shields to recycle plastic bottles.
