Why is philosophy not taught in school as an alternative to religion?
Because teaching philosophy or logic to every child in school would destroy religion and altruism. They both survive by crippling the mind of children. When an authority figure tells a child that morality and rationality are opposites (a completely insane, illogical concept) the child eventually accepts that gross contradiction as valid and loses faith in their own mind.
