Why is Patanol used?
Patanol (olopatadine) is an antihistamine used for the treatment of eye symptoms of allergic conditions, including itching, watering, burning, and inflammation. It works by reducing the amounts of natural chemical histamine released when your body perceives some external agent as potentially dangerous. Discussing your treatment with your doctor Tell your doctor if you have any kind of eye infection before starting Patanol, as that way you will be able to avoid unpleasant effects that may happen once you start the treatment. Preparing for Patanol treatment You are not supposed to use Patanol while wearing your contact lenses, as its ingredients may be absorbed by the lenses. You will need to wait for some 10 to 15 minutes after using Patanol before you can wear contact lenses. You will have to avoid using any other eye medications without first talking to your doctor.
