Why is palm wax better than standard candlewax?
Regular candle wax, also known as Parafin Wax, is produced from petroleum. It’s no secret that petroleum is in limited supply, and collecting it does major, irreversable damage to the planet and environment. In addition, burning petroleum polutes the air, and usually produces black smoke or soot. You may have noticed soot on your walls or ceiling at home if you burn regular candles frequently. Palm wax is different, because it’s made from a palm trees grown responsibly on farms, which means it is 100% renewable, unlike petroleum, and does not harm the environment to collect, other than the energy used. However, it takes very little energy to produce palm wax. Even less than it takes to produce SOY wax, another popular “eco friendly” candle wax.
