Why is Outlook not displaying the comments that someone added to a forwarded email sent from Webmail?

If a user forwards an HTML email from Webmail and adds some comments in plaintext, Outlook will not show the comments but only the forwarded email. Microsoft admit this is a bug (see the Microsoft Help & Support article). Unfortunately there is no way to show the messages using Outlook and no way even to know if Outlook is hiding a message. The recommended action in this case is to use a different email client such as Thunderbird or Mulberry.
