She is reminiscent of Jackie O. Vogue is about style, not about being a model, and Michelle Obama is definitely an icon. What’s great about her is that she gets her clothes from small-name designers and looks just as good as anyone else. Also, she’s very bright and seems to also be very kind and good-natured. Michelle Obama is an example for young girls, similar to Jackie O., because she knows some things her husband doesn’t know (which is precious in an atmosphere of sexism and inequality) and is still graceful and feminine at the same time. That’s why people love her, and that’s why Vogue finds her interesting. It’s not all about age or weight or race or what you’d usually find on the cover of Vogue – sometimes, Vogue includes actual content, and this is one of those times.
