Why is Novonyx providing Messaging Server for NetWare when GroupWise is available from Novell?
A. Although GroupWise supports Internet standards such as SMTP, MIME, POP3, and IMAP4 it does so only through gateways. There is no native support for these protocols within the GroupWise agents themselves and the GroupWise client supports neither POP3 nor IMAP protocols. Many current NetWare users wish to implement a messaging system with native support for Internet standards which also supports their current POP3 (Netscape Navigator, Eudora, Pegasus, Internet Explorer, etc.) and IMAP (Netscape Communicator, Outlook Express) clients. Netscape Messaging Server for NetWare fills that need for NetWare users.
