Most of the shapers using XTR are leaders in the industry; they know there is a need for alternative and environmentally friendly materials and a stronger, lighter surfboard. Most of the top shapers in Southern California are using XTR, or are in the process of getting the technology. Shapers who want to use this technology are willing to take the time to shape these boards and invest some money. Epoxy Pro offers the option of obtaining a License to use this technology. Epoxy Pro doesn’t sell blanks to the public due to the difficulty of the glassing and the proprietary technology of the “Thermovents”. Licenses are still available in some areas right now.
