Why is Northwestern University in Qatar?
Northwestern University, at the invitation of Qatar Foundation headed by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser Al-Misned, established its first branch campus outside of the United States in 2008. The vision shared by Northwestern University and Qatar Foundation about the role of NU-Q are commensurate: to lay the foundation for a vibrant media scene which contributes to a society based on reliable and free exchange of ideas and information for the good of Qatar and the development of its most important asset – its people.
