Why is Netscape freezing when trying to display the text manifest?
Some earlier manifests (before 1900) were keyed into the Ellis Island database with the entire manifest being considered a single page, rather than the manifest being broken down into pages of 30 passengers each. The resulting text manifests are quite large (500+ passengers sometimes) and Netscape has difficulty displaying them. So Netscape may freeze or even crash while trying to load this type of manifest.
