Why is my neutered male ferret biting my spayed female ferret?
Really good dialog with the adrenal disease logic. I would definitely say this ferret is adrenal. Breeding season just started with the lengthening of the days and adrenal ferrets are really becoming symptomatic again. The disease is hard to diagnose if your vet is not a good ferret vet. I like to see a CBC, chemistry and urinalysis not just a sonogram. If the ferret has aggression or is mildly symptomatic, they need to check the estradiol levels. It is a really odd disease when it comes to symptoms. I have a female who’s only symptom for about a year was aggression to my son. She would lick his ear incessantly and guard his room as her own. Then she started getting a swelling in her vulva so I knew right then what was wrong. She went to the vet and had immediate surgery with removal of both adrenal glands. She has a beautiful full soft coat and still does. It has been about a year how since the surgery but she is still very itchy and losing muscle. She is getting implants but her hypo
