Why is my jeep wrangler getting bad gas mileage?
Tires are really important to performance because that’s where the most friction and handling comes in to play. Check those. If you recently put those 33’s on then that’s part of it. If you drive that thing like I drove mine (like a bat out of hell) that hurts mileage too. I found that I got better mileage on the backroads regardless of speed than on the interstate because there was less wind resistance. You really have to quote us your mileage, tire size engine size, gearing, and driving style before we can tell if you have it so bad off. My best friend gets about 8 with 40″ tires and a 304v8. I was getting anywhere from 12-17 depending on tires, wind resistance that day, and driving style (2.5L motor). I have the throttle body spacer installed and I can not tell any difference. Changing the gearing might help with mileage.
