Why is my house rabbit moulting again?
It’s not like constant molting will kill your rabbit, but if your rabbit molts all the time it could be a sign that something isn’t quite right. For example, if your rabbit molts all of the time and you see what looks like white dandruff coming out of your rabbit’s fur. That is normally a sign of fur mites. In that case, you’ll want to have your rabbit treated by the vet with something like ivermectin. Molting also is caused by an increase in metabolism. An increase in metabolism can be caused by many factors: 1. Too high of energy in the diet – if your rabbit has loose flabby fur, that is a sign that your rabbit has too much energy in its diet. The looseness of the fur directly correlates to the amount of fat your rabbit is carrying. Snacks such as fruits and vegetables can cause excess energy in the diet.
