Why is my computer freezing at boot up when my printer is compatible with windows XP?
Do you have the proper drivers installed on your new computer? This could affect your boot issues, but I doubt it. It sounds like just some funky USB error. Try keeping your printer plugged into a different USB slot and see if that helps. If not… then I guess you simply can’t use your new computer with your printer. My computer does this sometimes; my mouse or keyboard will not respond after boot up even though they’ve been plugged since a previous successful boot. Though, my computer doesn’t freeze, it sounds like the same problem, in principle. Also, it seems that my usb keyboard refuses to work unless its plugged into a certain port. Though I think it may also be your power supply. If you’ve got a lot of things hooked up to an inadequate power supply, then your computer won’t be stable. Too many things taking up too much power for your power supply unit will definitely screw up performance. So, if you’re not willing to spend money on a new power supply, I would suggest either not
