Why is my Chilean Rose Hair Tarantula scared?

She might be getting ready for a molt too,… In general, most tarantulas don’t like to be picked up everyday. It may take her as long as several months before she molts. Mature females can spend quite a bit of time in “pre-molt”. When they’re in premolt they don’t want to be held or messed with. I’d give her a week then try again. If she still doesn’t want to be held, wait a month and see if she molts. If she’s eating well, you have nothing to worry about. Though, they normally stop eating a few weeks before a molt. Make sure she has a dish of water she can drink out of to hydrate herself before a molt. Don’t mist her container at all as chilean rose hairs don’t like that..
