Why is my acreage shown here different than the acreage shown in the Assessors Parcel Search?
The Assessors Parcel Search only shows acreage for tax parcels (see above for a description of legal parcels and tax parcels). The default for Polaris is to display the acreage for legal parcels rather than tax parcels. In general, legal parcels are drawn to the center of the road while tax parcels are drawn to the edge of the road. To see the tax parcel boundaries in Polaris, zoom to your parcel then click on the arrow to the right of Map Contents. Next, click on the + sign next to Parcels then check the box next to Tax Parcels. To see the tax parcel acreage in Polaris, click on the Identify tool then click in your parcel. At the top of the Identify Results box, choose All Layers from the drop down list. On the left side of the dialog box, you will see all the layers present at the point you clicked.
