Why is MSDSpro better than subscription based Internet services?

0

MSDSpro offers automated Internet downloads direct from the manufacturers for free. Subscription based MSDS services that deliver MSDSs over the Internet are different. While we are free, they charge you money. With a subscription based type of MSDS service, customers submit a chemical inventory list (index) to the MSDS vendor. The MSDS vendor then manually contacts the manufacturers on the list. Those MSDS are then scanned or electronically imported into the MSDS Vendor’s servers, and their customers are allowed password protected access to those MSDS (User name and ID). While it seems to be an easy and cheap way to get the job done, serious uncertainties arise as to the end-user access. Since the MSDS are available with a live Internet connection, if the MSDS Vendor (or their customer) experiences Internet server troubles, a barrier has been created between the MSDS and the employee.
