Why is MOUS now known as Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)?
Microsoft has recently revised the name of its Microsoft Office certification programme, formerly known as the Microsoft Office User Specialist Programme. The revision, which drops the use of the term “User” was made in response to customer feedback that indicated the prior programme name was too long, resulting in extensive use of the MOUS acronym. As a result customers lost the valuable association with the Microsoft Office name. The revised name, Microsoft Office Specialist, will make it easier for certified individuals to communicate their abilities with Microsoft Office to employers, co-workers, instructors and others.
