Why is most HIV/AIDS infection in children unrecognized?
Many children and adults in developing countries may not realize they have the HIV infection. Reasons vary but may include HIV testing not being available and infected persons not seeing the benefit of having the test if they are symptom free. However, UNADIS, reports that ‘early awareness that a Child has HIV infection, combined with good care and support, can enhance survival and quality of life’.
