Why is metric system(S.I. Units) preferred than the English system?
Because it makes more sense. Rather than having to convert 12 inches to one foot, for example. We can use 10 milimeters equals one centimeter, 100 centimeters equals one meter, 1000 meters equals 1 kilometer. The Scientific International units rely on the same style of unit multiplication for every measurement, (mili, centi, deci, deki, kilo, mega, etc) and then adds on the unit, (liter, meter, etc.) Very easy to figure out when scientific data is being passed between scientists who might not speak any language in common.
