Why is membership to Swimming Australia Ltd (SAL) included in our ascta membership?
We all feel that our sport revolves around coaches, because we work tirelessly with our athletes to make our sport what it is. For many years coaches were treated as ‘second class’ members of the sporting community. As a coach member of ascta you indirectly have input into the ongoing development of swimming at State and National levels. ascta is represented at board level with SAL and through boards and committees at State level as well. Members have a voice through their representatives. Through our affiliation with SAL, ascta members agree to a ‘Code of Conduct’ and therefore come under the provisions of SAL’s ‘Member Protection Policy’. Being a member supports professional standards as all our coach members must be properly qualified under the National Coach Accreditation Scheme (NCAS).
