Why is medication so affordable in Canada?
Due to a national health care system, the Canadian government regulates the pricing of prescription medication. This limits and restricts drug companies to charge a lower price for the same quality medications as marketed in the US. The Canadian government also encourages generic companies to produce substantially cheaper generic versions of brand name drugs to enter the market sooner.
