Ms. Tierney, who has appeared in television shows like “NewsRadio” and “ER,” had been set to star alongside Peter Krause and Craig T. Nelson in “Parenthood,” a comedy-drama adapted from the 1989 Ron Howard film that was expected to have its premiere on NBC in the fall. But in July, NBC announced that it was delaying the debut of the show until next year after Ms. Tierney said she was diagnosed with breast cancer. At that time, NBC said that it would delay production on the show for eight weeks while Ms. Tierney received a medical evaluation.
