Why is mary tudor important to world history?
Mary Tudor is important to world history, as any monarch is, because it allows us to have a snapshot of that country during those years. However, specifically to Mary Tudor, she was important to world history because of her strong Roman Catholic links to other countries. In England she persecuted Protestants famously burning many at the stake, landing her the nick name “Bloody Mary”, thus upseting Protestant countries such as the German Princedoms (modern Germany) and the Netherlands. In these countries universities and such had influenced the new and growing Protestant Churches, more and more with extreme Lutheran backgrounds. She was also linked with Catholic countries, firstly by her faith – she was a devout Catholic following her mother Catherine of Aragon’s (former wife of Henry VII and Queen of England) footsteps.
