Why is Marella being bashful with Beth ?
Here’s the skinny. Santino Marella’s last girl was so adamant on being stronger than he was, but in the end, the only thing stronger was his inability to break his tradition and just accept that American women have strong wills. The thing is, I believe that Santino likes a girl who is strong, but doesn’t want to admit it. Hence why Santino is so attracted to Beth, she’s strong willed AND stong bodied. You have to understand that they’re also playing on the fact that he’s old-fashioned in his ways, so he’s tempted to do things now that he’s never tried to do in public before… and the fact that she’s strong enough to do them against his will just shocks him even more. I think that this relationship is probably one of the more “adorable” ones they’ve come up with… and it’s the one that makes the most sense to me, as well… next to the Lita/Matt Hardy build up.
