Why is macromedia flash a good programme to use for south park style animation?
Adobe Flash is a good program, because it allows you to easily create cut-out-style animation. However, there are free/cheaper alternatives for cut-out animation, such as Anime Studio (cheaper) and Creatoon (free). Even toon boom could work for you (it’s not specifically cut-out like the others, but it is cheaper than Flash). By the way, the other two answerers are wrong. South Park uses Maya for animating. It is the same highend 3d application used by ILM for films like Star Wars, Sony for films like Spiderman and Weta for films like Lord of the Rings. It is a styalistic choice to make it look so primative. You can also use a free highend 3d application to create this using blender. Below is a thread that explains a tutorial.
