Why is long hair considered a feminine trait and short hair masculine?
Girls are thought to be more beautiful and less practical than boys. Hence long hair is in for girls and short hair for boys. The same kind of thing applies to colors although the exact history and reason why pink is a girl’s color is not clear. We tend to equate girls with more emotional warmth than boys, hence pink is a warm color compared to the colder blue of the sky and of the boys place in the practical domination of nature.
