Why is Logan County using the services of McLean County for the Comprehensive Plan?

0

We have chosen the McLean County Regional Planning Commission to assist us with this plan for several reasons. 1. They are willing to do a consolidated plan for the entire county including land use plans for Lincoln, Mt Pulaski, Atlanta and Elkhart. This will save each group money by not having to produce an individual plan for it own purposes. A comprehensive plan for each entity could cost $50,000 to $80,000 if prepared by a consultant. 2. They have a staff of 6 people that do land use plans for the municipalities in McLean County as well as GIS services. They are certified by the American Planning Association. 3. They are practicing planners, not consultants. They are not trying to sell us anything. We approached them. 4. They are willing to attempt to get funding from Department of Natural Resources to write a Greenways Plan for Logan County to complement the Comprehensive Plan. This would be of benefit to McLean County also as it could possibly link Bloomington to Springfield bike
