I hate replying before checking all the new comments… I don’t have a graduate degree, nor have I ever applied federally so that may be the case. I may eventually get a MBA just because I find some of it interesting, but outside of the sciences I do not think its necessary. Unfortunately an MBA is just about useless for the money nowadays (at my level) unless you can garner some good contacts out of it. I rarely come across someone with a grad degree that impresses me more than an equivalent level w/o a grad degree. I primarily work at sub C-level though so that may just be the nature of the environment where a grad degree is not necessary to shine. With that said, I have the same belief on certs vs certs + experience vs. experience only. I’ll take the experience every time. Personal example – friend did financial work of some sort for a big local company, making around 60k. He gets laid off and goes for a full time MBA. He graduated last May/June and then got a job in November making
