Why is LinkedCells better than sharing Excel files?
Putting your Excel workbook on the network is a simple solution, but there are a number of problems with this approach: • Everyone must be on the same network, so it doesn’t work well if remote offices or people on the road need to access or share data. • By default, everyone on the network can see and modify your entire workbook, and configuring permissions is difficult. • If multiple people modify the same data, the resulting conflicts must be resolved manually. LinkedCells resolves all these problems. It is available anywhere you have an Internet connection; you can even work offline and publish or update your data when you are connected again. Controlling who can see your data is easy, you just add those contacts to your publication. Since you retain control of your spreadsheet, you can’t get conflicts.
